(Av) age 35ish looking for 30-40
We have a double rooms for rent in the lovely terraced house we're living in. The house is really homey, it has a gorgeous little garden for the summer and an open fire in the living room for the winter. The landlords are lovely and help us out wherever our DIY skills come to an end.
Clare - Weekdays Im normally pretty busy, heading to see a show or a gig, meet friends. I volunteer at a local charity radio station once a week and Im a delegate with local Labour Party, so canvassing with them when I have the time. Fridays or Saturday evenings Im either meeting friends or chilling at home cooking dinner with a glass of wine.. Weekends sometimes to the local breweries and markets.. in the summer having friends around, making food together and eating in the garden and winter cosy fires and the weekend papers ..
Petra - Monday to Friday I work as producer for public art and like to stick around after work for a catch up with friends and/or colleagues. But my passion are all things nature: Foraging, bee keeping, growing plants, and fermenting. Ideally in a shared environment, with a lovely bunch of people. One day per week I cook in a local community cafe using surplus produce, which requires quite some creative thinking on occasion but is so much fun! I like to be social, having people around for breakfast/lunch/dinner, and I love dancing. But equally, I need my alone time and will respect yours.
We're looking for housemates who would like a home, somewhere to relax outside of the hectic London life, cook meals together, and have an all round positive space to live. The house is vegetarian, so let us know if you are OK with that.
About the room:
The room is an en-suite. It is only partly furnished with a wardrobe, but no bed. It is 11'4 x 8'11 (3.5m x 3.7m) and has a lovely en-suite with a bath, the room measures 11'4 x 6'1 and has a separate storage room.
The house is a three bedroom terraced house. It's been really nicely decorated by the landlords and we have furnished it ourselves. It's really comfortable, cosy and warm. With the current housemates, we've tried to make it a sanctuary from the bustle of London, a place to relax and recharge in, and somewhere that feels like a home. We have a little back garden with flowers, a bay tree, rosemary, lavender, and herb patch. And we like to plant it with flowers every summer! There is also a shed if you fancy some DIY.
Walthamstow is a brilliant location, it's on the Victoria line, (from the house its 22 minutes to Kings Cross and 40 to Victoria) it also has an Overground and great bus links. By bike we are 30 mins to Hackney. Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted are all convenient to get to from here. Theres loads to do with two lovely yoga studios near by, a climbing centre that also doubles as a workspace and bar, two breweries, a gin distillery, organic farmers markets, the William Morris Gallery which has beautiful gardens as well as a field which is perfect for runners and outdoor gym. Epping Forest and the Walthamstow Marshes are both nearby and beautiful to walk around as well as lots of lovely pubs, cafes and plenty of cultural events and happenings..
Bills are approx 130 per month. This includes water, gas & electricity, Council Tax, broadband and a cleaner twice a month.
