Flatshare Description

Semi self-contained loft studio with bright double bedroom/living-room/study and separate spacious shower room in owners newly-converted Victorian house for dog-friendly tenant.

I (49) live here with my son (a surprisingly quiet 16 year old), and dog (Rosco, 4 year old Whippet). In order to to not live in an all male home, we would ideally like a woman to move in - but not necessarily. We hope to also rent out the master bedroom in the autumn. If you were staying in the loft, you would have a say on who joins the house.

The house is in the heart of East Londons dynamic, up-and-coming arts and education quarter and is a 12-minute walk or short bus ride from Stratford tube station (central line, jubilee line, DLR and overground rail to various London and outside London locations). It provides a convenient base from which to nip into Zone 1 and/or to explore the various independent cinema and theatre venues, cafs, pubs and restaurants of Stratford, Bow, Forest Gate and Hackney Wick, the charming Regents Canal walkway, and the wild spaces of Epping Forest (yes, although we live in Zone 2, we have a forest nearby!).

The loft conversion is truly stunning, and is decorated and furnished in soothing colours with a dark oak bedroom suite, a large desk and good supportive chair, comfortable unholstered armchair, elegantly framed architectural prints, and designer lamps, rugs and throws. This dual aspect L-shaped room benefits from high-speed WiFi (unlimited broadband), and a ceiling-to-floor bookcase that can be cleared entirely or offered with a range of academic, art, literature and travel books; it includes kettle, water filter and other tea-making facilities, blackout blinds to all Velux and timber sash windows, and ample under-eaves storage space for suitcases and other items you might wish to tuck away.

Besides enjoying the seclusion of this generously proportioned, split-level accomodation (40 cubic metres), you will share a fully-equipped kitchen/diner (with your own separate fridge and cupboard space) and small back garden with your hosts.

Nearby the house, youll find the extensive shopping and leisure facilities of Westfield Stratford City and our top-of-the-road 24/7 supermarkets as well as the Queen Elizabeth Olypmic Park, West Ham Park, and the brand new Atherton Leisure Centre with its well-equipped gym, olympic-sized swimming-pool, and yoga and other classes. Altogether, this is a surprisingly quiet and friendly neighbourhood given its ultra-urban location, the bustle of people around Stratford Station and Westfield and our proximity to the busy epicentre of London.

This is a warm and inviting family home, and we view all of our guests not merely as lodgers or tenants but as valued temporary members of our household.
