Flatsharing with one male (Av) age 35ish looking for 25-40
Large en-suite room in a two-person flat available to rent from October for up to four months. The room comes fully-furnished, including a desk for comfortable home working. The flat is right on Regents canal next to Mile End park, which is perfect for walks and other exercise, with a large balcony overlooking the water. The flat is very bright, warm, and comfortable.
The flat is available for up to four months (end of Jan 2021). Including all bills, the cost per month is 800.
The hot-water heating and space heating are very effective and the flat is double-glazed throughout. We have high-speed internet.
The flat will be professionally cleaned before you move in, and we will install a brand-new mattress after discussing your preferences (e.g. soft or firm, memory foam or springs).
The room comes fully furnished and the kitchen/living room are fully equipped. The room will otherwise be empty so there will be plenty of space for your things. There is limited storage outside of the bedroom.
You will be sharing the flat with Adam. Adam works from home for an NGO. Hes friendly and enjoys reading, watching films, cooking, and conversation.
This is a sociable but tidy and quiet flat; visitors are very welcome within limits and the latest regulations regarding COVID.
Although this is a short-term let, we are looking for someone who will treat the flat like their home. This means helping to keep it clean and tidy and caring for the plants.
There are plenty of shops and amenities close by, including a pharmacy, post office, Sainsburys, Lidl, off-license, fruit-and-veg shop, bakeries (including the legendary Rinkoffs), restaurants, pubs, independent cinema (5 tickets Mon-Wed), and Stepney city farm. Queen Mary University is under five-minutes walk away.
The nearest tube stops are Mile End (a short walk through the park) and Limehouse (even shorter walk through some pleasant streets). Stepney station is also nearby but currently closed.
The flat is located on a secure private estate, with overground and underground bike and vehicle parking. Parking spaces for cars are an additional cost, but not much. We have visitor parking tickets. Parking for scooters/motorbikes is free. There is a gate enclosing the open space where bikes are parked.
Our neighbours are professionals and families. People exercise and relax in the open space and often have a chat. Its a very friendly and safe space.
Mile End park opposite the flat is a hidden gem, with a nature reserve and wooded areas. In fifteen minutes walk the canal takes you to Victoria Park going north, and to Limehouse basin (and the Thames) going south. On a bike you can easily travel to Hackney on the canal, or down to Greenwich via the Isle of Dogs (through a pedestrian tunnel under the river).
