Flatsharing with four females and 1 male (Av) age 34ish looking for 30-40
The house is a pretty victorian terrace with our own garden, wooden floors throughout. It's in a very quiet street, around the corner from Chatsworth road, next to Millfields park which is next to a nature reserve which is next to Hackney Marsh you get the idea, it's very green. It's a fantastic location, you're probably aware. There isn't a separate living room but we have an open kitchen-diner with a long dinner table for four or more, and a really good washing-machine.
You'd be sharing with five other (awesome : ) housemates. Were all considerate, pretty quiet, but also social, and mature about living together happily and making the house a nice and relaxing home. Ages range from 28 to 46, we all work in design / (performance/visual) arts / writing / music, with a bit of psychology thrown in. We all love what we do so we're busy and independent, but also homey. We like living with others it's not just a necessity, we have friendship and a community, which has been particularly good during lockdown.
We're looking for a new housemate who fits right in: who is interested and interesting, cares about and relates to the people they live with and proactively takes care of stuff around the house, like we do. We'd like it if you're looking for a long-term home. Most of us work nine-to-five-(ish) so we make sure people are not kept up at night especially at weeknights if you like the sound of that: great, if you are night-active, a party-person or generally noisy: not such a good fit. Ideally you are: not veeery young, more left than right, a gentle soul, europhile enough, own significantly more books than games consoles, not conspicuously into team sports, not against plants, happy to cut the hedge (in our wildest dreams,) maybe even enjoy a bit of gardening. One of our housemates has just got a kitten (see pics!) so hopefully you like cats or don't mind living with one. Also, in the current pandemic scenario, we're looking for someone who is, like us, considerate about behaving responsibly and coordinating with each other so that we help each other to minimise risks while having a life where possible.
The room is 645 including bills so all utilities, council tax, fast hi-end broadband, house supplies (from loo roll to water filters) are all included in this. Before lockdown we used to have a weekly cleaner for the communal areas (also included), and we might well decide to get someone again when it seems safe.
If this sounds right we'd love to meet you! We are planning to have Skype/Zoom/etc initial viewings, and if you and us are serious about it, we would arrange a real-world view & meet. We hope that works for you, send us an email : )
